A lot of indie artists are now doing these jump start or start up campaigns to get their new albums made. It is a really popular idea that seem to work for them. But Bobby Long is using a different kind of jump start. He is using a pledging system. To me, this is win-win, for both fans and for the artist.
With this type of jump start program, the artist sets up a page where fans can purchase items directly from the artist/band and the funds are directly used to help make the album. As of June 24th, Bobby has only been at it for about a week and he is already at 69% of his goal with 51 days to go.
