The New Kids on the Block Are Heading to Las Vegas
NKOTB is heading to Las Vegas!
The band – who first came on to the scene in 1984 – will be celebrating 30 years together with a big party for fans in Sin City, PEOPLE can exclusively announce.
"It is cool because it is still the same because no matter how old you get, there is still a kid inside of you," Jordan Knight tells PEOPLE of performing together for decades.
The New Kids On The Block have sold over 80 million records, toured the world, started their own annual cruise and now they've got something new in store.
"We have a blast on the cruise and people are clamoring to get the tickets every year so we felt like we should do something like the cruise on land – and we automatically thought Vegas," Knight, 43, says of the long weekend they have planned for NKOTB fans, which they have called "After Dark."
Beginning July 10, Knight, his brother Jonathan, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood will spend four days putting on parties and events for fans as well as performing at the Axis at Planet Hollywood, the venue currently occupied by Britney Spears.
"At the end of the four days, I'm sure we will be almost dead," says Knight. "But it is fun and kind of intoxicating just hanging out with all the fans."
Knight confesses that the Vegas shows will be a little more "risqué" than the rest of the performances on their international tour, and the band's families will most likely not be in attendance that weekend – but not for the reason you might think.
"We don't have a lot of time to spend with our families when we are doing things like this," Knight explains. "It is not leisurely. It is fun but it is not leisurely."
But Knight admits he does enjoy seeing his wife Evelyn Melendez and his sons Dante, 14, and Eric, 7, in the audience.
"Seeing my 14-year-old son in the front row with his cousins singing our songs that are 25 years old is pretty freaking amazing. It makes the experience all that much better," he says. "We were young and single when we first started but to have a family and to be able to do this again and for them to experience it just makes it bigger for us."
Tickets for the NKOTB Las Vegas weekend will be available for American Express pre-sale on March 28 and to the general public April 4.
