Samuel L Jackson to appear in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D?

New TV promo hints at Nick Fury cameo

Although Agent Coulson has taken the spotlight, it looks as though Nick Fury could be back as a new promo hints at a cameo in 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'

After the extremely successful launch of Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' it looks as though the comic book series has become one of the most-watched programmes of last week - with a staggering 3.1 million viewers. But it looks as though there might be an even bigger reason to tune in for episode two as Nick Fury is rumoured to appear in a very special cameo.

A very brief (yet utterly tantalising) video on the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Facebook page shows a montage of clips followed by the now-familiar logo… but it seems in this case, the Eagle is sporting an eye-patch.

Obviously mimicking Nick Fury, fans are already speculating that this could hint towards an appearance by Nick Fury himself - played by none other than Samuel L Jackson. And let's be honest, it's not exactly a tremendous leap.

For one thing, the promo advises viewers to "stay 'til the very end" and it's been suggested that we may be treated to one of Marvel's famous post-credits scenes. Even Agent Coulson himself (or rather, the actor Clark Gregg) has urged fans to stick around, presumably for a post-credits scene.

But could it really star Samuel L Jackson?

Having played S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury in a number of Marvel feature films, Jackson has already expressed interest in reprising his role for the small-screen.

"If I was going to do S.H.I.E.L.D. I'd like to be - you know Charlie's voice on Charlie's Angels? That would be perfect. Because everybody recognizes my voice. That would be good enough for me. And I told Joss that."

If you ask me, I think they'd be mad not to take him up on that. After all, Nick Fury is the face of S.H.I.E.L.D. And an appearance by Samuel L Jackson could bring in an even bigger crowd than it's already rather impressive pilot episode.

Will Samuel L Jackson appear in 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'? For now, we'll have to wait and see. But I'd bet my left eye on it.
