Wants to play The Thing or Colossus

Terry Crews has admitted that he pines for the day when he can portray The Thing in a 'Fantastic Four' movie, but he's not picky, because he wouldn't be averse to playing Colossus in a future 'X-Men' escapade too.

'The Expendables' behemoth made the revelation to Newsarama, confessing that he would leap at the opportunity to play either the beloved stone-faced heavy or the strongest member of the X-Men ensemble, but it's up to filmmakers and moviegoers to find the perfect superhero role for him.

Crews proclaimed, "One character I always thought I could play is the Thing from 'Fantastic Four.' Another character I've always loved as a fan is Colossus. If there was a way to make that happen that worked, I would love to be Colossus."

He admitted that the power isn't his hands though, stating, "You can't make yourself President; the people make you the President. If people want me to be a part of this superhero genre, it'll happen. People get what they want." A perfect analogy if I've ever heard one.

Crews has clearly been thinking about a Marvel role for quite some time, and he's even quite pragmatic with his desires. "Some people bring up Luke Cage," noted Crews, "but honestly I have to step out of that because Marvel's never really expressed an interest in it, why should I?"

He then added, "I'm interested in actually doing a character that'll see the light of day … I don't want to be a part of something that's going to sit on the shelf and never get made."

However, if he isn't able to make a cinematic impression on a comic book character from the past or present, then Crews is holding out hope that an artist will soon create one that is perfect for him in the near future.

Crews mused, "I feel like we need to make new superheroes, African-American superheroes, that people would accept. Whatever I do, it has to be right - for me, for the character, and for the fans."

For the uninitiated, Terry Crews is one of those actors that you instantly recognise, but can't quite remember what from.

That doesn't stop him from being a reliable actor who has brought a quirky stern presence to the likes of 'Idiocracy,' 'Bridesmaids,' 'The Expendables,' 'Arrested Development' and *ahem* 'White Chicks.' Plus he used to be an NFL player, which makes him doubly awesome.

Would Crews make a better Thing or Colossus?
