Actress Lyn Peters Dies at 72

The widow of actor Paul Burke, she had roles on such 1960s TV series as "Batman," "Get Smart" and "Hogan’s Heroes."

Lyn Peters, the widow of actor Paul Burke and an actress who appeared on such 1960s TV series as BatmanGet Smart and Hogan’s Heroes, died Sept. 10 at her home in Palm Springs. She was 72.
Peters was married to Burke from 1979 until his death in 2009. He starred on such TV series as Naked City12 O’Clock Highand Dynasty and in such films as Valley of the Dolls (1967) and The Thomas Crown Affair (1968).
Her step-granddaughter is Arrested Development actress Alia Shawkat.
Born in Argentina and raised in London, Peters worked as a fashion model before she came to Hollywood.
She employed her British accent to play Lady Prudence opposite Rudy Vallee as Lord Marmaduke Ffogg on a 1967 three-part London-set episode of ABC’sBatman. And on a 1968 installment of NBC's Get Smart, Peters portrayed KAOS agent Mrs. Emily Neal, who was out to sabotage U.S. track and field athletes. (That role was a parody of Diana Rigg’s spy character Emma Peel on The Avengers.)
Peters’ series work also included 12 O’Clock HighThe Man From U.N.C.L.E.The Girl From U.N.C.L.E.Daniel BooneIt Takes a Thief and The Rat Patrol, and she had small roles in such movies as In Like Flint (1967) and Grave of the Vampire (1972).
After she retired from acting in the 1980s, Peters -- a graduate of the culinary academy Le Cordon Bleu -- founded Custom Catering. Her clientele included Frank Sinatra and Bob Hope.
Survivors include stepchildren PaulaPaul and Dina. Her son, Karl, died in 1989.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 26 at the Church of St. Paul in the Desert in Palm Springs.
