The deal for Mara is done, according to Variety, setting her up to play Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman.
Jamie Bell ("Hallam Foe," "Snowpiercer") has been offered the parts of Ben Grimm aka The Thing, while Miles Teller ("Divergent") is sought for the role of Reid Richards, Mr. Fantastic.
Should Bell and Teller accept, Fox Pictures is expected to finalize the film's primary antagonist over the next few weeks.
Josh Trank of "Chronicle" is to direct, with a target release date of June 19, 2015.
Two previous movies based on the "Fantastic Four" superhero comics were released in 2005 and 2007, starring Chris Evans, Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd and Michael Chiklis.
While poorly reviewed, they cleared in excess of $620 million at the box office, off the back of a combined $230m budget.
"Chronicle," which also featured Michael B. Jordan, was released in 2012 and made $125 million with Fox's budget of $12 million.
